The town of Sesimbra is famed for its fishing, including sport fishing for swordfish, as well as its seafood restaurants and lively evening atmosphere. The town is overlooked by a ruined Moorish castle, which sits on a mountain-top and affords splendid views down over the harbour. Also worth a visit is the Serra de Arrábida park, a vast expanse of mountains that lead right up to the coastline, where you can find stunning unspoiled beaches. Slightly further afield, but still within easy reach, is the centre of Lisbon, where you can head for excellent shopping, culinary delights and lively evening action.

The hotel's Espadarte Restaurant makes good use of the local catch from the Sesimbra harbour, creating beautiful seafood dishes.
