Golf courses

The Brabazon course

The Brabazon course is steeped in Ryder Cup history, having hosted the tournament on an unprecedented four occasions. Who could forget Sam Torrance's 18th hole heroics in 1985, or the jubilant Paul McGinley sinking the winning putt in 2002? These famous moments are what make The Brabazon so special, and should inspire every golfer to visit and experience that legacy.

The PGA National course

The PGA National course opened for business in 1997 to strengthen The Belfry's golfing resort and ease the traffic over the world famous Brabazon. Since then the PGA National has established a superb reputation of its own, hosting the Seniors European Open tournament. The main feature of the course is the tremendous bunkering, designed to protect the large, undulating greens. Playing the first and last holes, you will be under the watchful gaze of those in the clubhouse, adding considerable pressure.

The Derby course

The Derby course is the perfect complement to The Belfry's feature tracks, whose par-69 layout is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. The best hole is the 5th, where golfers must drive over the majestic oak that marks the middle of the fairway.

The Belfry's superb golfing complex is home to the headquarters of The PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, The PGA of Europe and The PGA National Golf Academy.

Hotel Information

The Belfry boasts 324 guest bedrooms, ranging from the more comfortable standard twins and doubles through to their superior rooms. For a particularly memorable occasion, there are 11 spacious suites and the Presidential Suite.

The guestrooms are tastefully decorated and well-furnished, while many offer excellent views over the manicured gardens or the golf courses. The 550 acres of Warwickshire countryside make for a sublime backdrop, while spending time in the hotel will evoke memories of the superb Ryder Cup matches to have been staged at The Belfry, particularly when you pass the European and American team rooms, where so many rousing speeches have been delivered.

This special atmosphere pervades the whole resort, and only serves to improve the experience of your golf break at The Belfry.

Health & Wellness at The Belfry offer a range of facilities that include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa pools. In addition there’s a state-of-the-art gym with a range of TECA equipment from Italy, fitness studio, tennis and squash court.

Relax in the AquaSpa, a 90 minute journey through a series of 12 zones, experience hot and cold sensations with cleansing steam, piercing ice showers, aromatherapy mood lighting and a multi-featured hydrotherapy pool.

Furthermore, the buffet on offer at The Atrium offers an endless array of delicious classic dishes.

Following a round of golf, try Sam's, which is ideal for the hungry golfer. Alternatively head to the Belfry Bar for a drink, before moving on to the legendary Bel Air nightclub for a lively evening’s entertainment.

Venue reviews for The Belfry

This venue has 21 reviews, with an average rating of 5 out of 5

The weekend was fantastic, The Belfry is perfect for those sorts of events, everything on your doorstep and a City fairly nearby! The golf courses were in great condition, especially the brabazon course and it all worked like clockwork. You’re organisation was exceptional and made me look good!

Everything went well. We had a great two rounds of golf. Food lovely, room nice. It was the first time I have booked anything online so I'm glad it went well, thank you very much for your all your work.

Just a short note to thank you for organising our golf break to the Belfry yesterday. Everything was perfect, even the weather!!

I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say that the ten guys had a fantastic time at the Belfry! So thank you very much for all you help with the booking and your patience with the ever growing/shrinking party numbers!! If I’m ever mad enough to organize another golf trip for my other half, you’ll be the first person I call….. Kindest regards,

Thanks very much for the booking. Everyone enjoyed themselves and really appreciate the professional service you provided. The value for money was superb. Thanks again,

Hello, firstly can i say what a fantastic weekend my husband and I had visiting The Belfry. The weather was perfect for late October, great golfing weather. The weekend ran smoothly, whilst I took advantage of the spa facilities, my husband played 2 rounds of golf on the PGA and Derby courses and even though he went on his own, the kind members of staff teamed him up with other people to complete the courses.

The accommodation was excellent and the meal was out of this world. So much choice and so tasty, especially the pork. Breakfast was equally as good and top marks go to the chefs and indeed all the members of staff. My husband definitely wants to play the Brabazon next year as the course looks fantastic, he was very impressed with the other two courses as well. Thank you so much, your golf travel for an excellent weekend golf break.

Weekend was amazing! You have got to get in that Bel Air night club!!!

Thanks for arranging everything at the Belfry this weekend we all throughly enjoyed it, venue was excellent and the deal was outstanding. Thanks again,

On behalf of my husband and myself I want to thank you a million times for booking the Belfry for us, not only that but asking them if they could give us a room over looking the course when we paid for the upgrade as it was our Anniversary. They went one better and gave us the Wentworth room, which when we entered we found it to be a suite. It was wonderful, massive and they even gave us a lovely anniversary card. Thank you so much, we had a fantastic couple of days. Kind regards,

Thanks for sorting The Belfry booking with the minimum of fuss. Everybody had a great time, in particular and most importantly the Stag. Best,

My son and I had a brilliant time on our golf break at the Belfry. We had been wanting to play the Brabazon Course since we watched the Ryder Cup there in 2002. Before we had spoken with Your Golf Travel we didn’t even know there were other golf courses on the resort and we found everything about The Belfry to be top class.

Our first round of golf was on the Derby Course and we thought it was excellent. The greens were slick and true and the layout was very enjoyable. The par of 69 was quite challenging and my son gave me a lesson in how to play golf! Sometimes I wish I had never introduced him to it!!

The Hotel was brilliant. The bedrooms were clean, tidy and well equipped and the facilities in the hotel were great. Relaxing in the spa was a good way to relax after the golf and get ready for a night on the beers! The food was great at dinner and at breakfast and lunch the following day it was of a very high standard.

Then came our round in the Brabazon which didn’t fail to live up to expectations. The 10th and 18th holes are the obvious highlights but we thought the rest of the course was equally as good. The greens were some of the best we have putted on in a long time and of course the golf course itself was very challenging. My son is quite a long hitter so went for the green on the 10th. The term school boy came to mind as I made birdie from the fairway and he had to scramble just to scrape a bogey!

All in all a great golf trip and we would recommend Your Golf Travel to any other golfers going on a golf holiday as we thought the service was great and our golf break was comparatively cheap.

A big thanks to Your Golf Travel for arranging our golf break to the Belfry. It all ran like clockwork and was the most stress free golf break we have ever been on. From the minute we arrived at the Belfry it was easy going. All of the tee times, rooms and venue were in place as promised so we could just relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The Belfry is so easy to find as it is well signposted. The golf courses were in tip top condition and we were lucky enough to play all three; the Brabazon, PGA National and the Derby. They all were great.

The hotel staff were very helpful, the food was excellent and the rooms in the Trevino Wing were clean comfortable and well kept. The sports bar had a great atmosphere and the price of a pint wasn’t totally over the top at about £4.

The Belfry is steeped in the history of the Ryder Cup and the starters swapped tales about the golf legends they had met before we teed off and gave us some tips on the courses we were to play...great service!

Our Belfry golf break lived up to our expectations; in fact it’s the best golf break we have been on so thanks again to Your Golf Travel.

My wife and I have now completed our 4th golf break organised by Your Golf Travel and have enjoyed every single one of them. We have recommended YGT to a number of people at our local golf club and will continue to return to book future golf breaks with you.

Our most recent golf break was a one night break at the Belfry. The Belfry was great all across the board. The hotel was luxurious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Dinner was included in our golf break package and there was a really good selection at the buffet and it was all delicious.

Our room was superb with views over the putting green and a grand four poster bed.

We played the PGA National and Derby golf courses both of which were extremely enjoyable. The PGA National was in fantastic condition and we found it to be very challenging compared to the shorter Derby Course.

I would just like to congratulate Your Golf Travel on a fantastic golf weekend at the Belfry; great golf, great service, great food, and great accommodation. All in all simply top class!

We arrived on Sunday the 2nd of October and were greeted at reception with a warming smile. The staff pointed out where we should go and what time we could check in and the golf break was underway!

We proceeded down to the golf centre to arrange our tee times and were again welcomed by a well spoken gentleman who explained to us fully what time we had to be on tees and what the overall procedure was...if only we had a starter like this guy at my home course!

Golf was under way at precisely 10.50am with no hiccups. The overall experience of playing the P.G.A Course was fantastic and with the odd refreshment buggy on the course made it a great day out. Regrettably there were only 18 holes on the course as we were all hungry for more!

The 19th hole was great and to be honest we were surprised to learn it was only a 4 star resort. Again service was great and the food was sensational; all credit to the staff at the Belfry. We finished the day off in style, sampling the beers that the Belfry had to offer without cause to complain. We are pleased to report the hotel was every bit as good as the golf courses and we all enjoyed a decent night’s sleep.

We were on the tee the next day at 10.20am on the Derby Course which, once again, was a brilliant golf course. The weather had been superb throughout the weekend making our stay at the Belfry all the more enjoyable.

Overall scoring for the Belfry golf break:

Food 10/10

Entertainment 9/10

Golf 10/10

Value for money 9/10

Location 10/10

Staff 9/10

Service 10/10

19th Hole 9/10

Overall Verdict 10/10

We would highly recommend Your Golf Travel to everyone and once again we would like to thank you for a wonderful experience and will be back next year hopefully to test ourselves the Brabazon.

Thanks for helping arrange a great weekend golf break at The Belfry. All the lads had a fantastic time & we all enjoyed the golf. Both the PGA National and the Derby courses were great. If we were to pick a favourite we would probably go for the PGA (got a birdie on the first but downhill from there!).

We would all recommend The Belfry for a weekend golf break. The courses are great, the food is really good and the facilities on the resort are fantastic. Unfortunately we all felt that the prices were on the steep side for drinks and other extras. As always I would recommend Your Golf Travel for golf holidays & will be booking our next golf trip soon.

Your Golf Travel organised a great golf break for us at The Belfry. This is a fantastic location for a weekend golf break! We played the PGA National and The Derby and both golf courses were exceptional. All the golf club and hotel staff were very efficient and friendly as well.

The rooms in the hotel were very comfortable and food was tasty and plentiful. Not a cheap place to spend the weekend but well worth paying that little extra for the luxurious surroundings and the golf history attached to the place. Both The Belfry and Your Golf Travel are highly recommended for any serious golfer looking for a weekend golf break near the Midlands.

I am already looking forward to my next golf break with YGT!

From the moment the 8 of us were greeted by the very helpful and friendly staff at The Belfry, we knew we were in for a great golf trip. We arrived very early so decided to browse the Golf Shop, which is the biggest in Europe, and could have spent a fortune had I not been sensible and left my bank card at home. Once we had finished marvelling at the array of clothing, clubs and The Belfry branded gear we relaxed in Sam´s Bar for a coffee and breakfast roll. A few pairs were able to get their room early so some got changed in their rooms while I decided to sample the Changing Rooms and facilities. They had everything you would need such as large lockers and comfortable showers. Once changed, I booked in at the desk and was informed that we would get a shuttle bus to the first tee of the Derby course. It was quite remarkable, nothing seemed too much trouble for any of the staff and the friendly, often humorous nature of the pro's just added to theenjoyment. The Derby course was in great condition, a good test for all abilities. The food in The Atrium Restaurant that evening was a buffet and everyone couldn't believe the variety on offer and it's quality, a true feast was enjoyed and would be recommended to anyone staying there, even if not part of an offer.

The following morning was breakfast in The Atrium and yet again the lads were very impressed although still suffering from the amount eaten the night before. The rooms were comfortable and we were all lucky enough to have a large balcony where the end overlooked the 18th of the PGA National...a great view with coffee in hand first thing in the morning. The PGA National had everyone excited and nervous in anticipation and itdidn't disappoint. Its inland links feel, with plenty of deep bunkers, mounds and the odd water hazard and the way the fairways snake around all adds up to a great golfing experience. We were all in agreement that the PGA National is a must play, certainly my highlight of the trip, especially as I played my best golf on the course. At £99 for 1 night/2 rounds, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast it really is unbelievable value!

Thanks for your help in making this possible in such a short space of time.

Cheers,

Gareth

I would like to thank YGT for organising my golf break to the Belfry for my friends and I, we had a great time at this iconic golf setting we were welcomed by a friendly service in the golf shop and the hotel reception. The golf courses were in great condition considering the amount of rain we have had this year! The PGA and Brabazon courses were a great test of golf especially with strong winds and the derby was a nice finish to our tour.

The hotel food was fantastic and we all enjoyed the food and drink was a bit expensive but what you would expect from this hotel. The hotel was easy to find and would we would rate the complex including golf a 7/10.

The level of service I received from Your Golf Travel and staff was yet again world class and would give them a 10/10 and will be in contact very soon in regards to booking our next trip.

We had a great golf break at The Belfry the course was in great condition, made even better by me nailing my drive on the 10th on the brabazon to 8 foot only to miss the eagle putt by an inch!! I wonder if I would have sunk the putt if I haven't drunk too much wine the night before!

Exceptional service by Your Golf Travel, I will definitely book through them next time I go on a golf holiday.

We got there 3 hours early maybe a bit too keen and we thought that we would be twiddling our thumbs for a while as check in wasn't until 3pm, but The Belfry staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and even got us checked in to our rooms at 9.30am which I was surprised of. As a result of this we took advantage and dived into the pool and saunas for an hour or more before tee off. When we got to the golf centre they were once again very helpful and friendly with information and where to go and what to do. We played the Brabazon which was a stunning 18 holes of golf and would recommend to anyone.

The food was delicious and as usual our eyes were too big for our bellys but well worth it. Breakfast was the same which then set us up for the Derby course which was a very enjoyable round as well. The PGA course looks like it will be on the cards for next time when we come back. I would highly recommend this to any golfer. Once again a big thanks to Your Golf Travel.

Just returned from a 1 night 2 round packages at the Belfry with my wife and daughter. Thanks to Your Golf Travel for making everything so enjoyable. The courses were great, (despite awful weather on the first day) with the sun shining as we tackled the Brabazon. They helped greatly in changing tee times at the last minute and allowing us to enjoy the history of the Brabazon at a more leisurely pace without the snow!!

We really enjoyed our meal in Sam’s bar whilst watching the Masters par 3 tournaments. Food was great and the service from Sally our waitress, excellent. So easy to access from the motorway meant we were home in plenty of time for the Masters first round that evening. Looking forward now to our next trip with Your Golf Travel.

All in all it was a fantastic golf break to The Belfry. Two rounds on the Brabazon, bed and breakfast all for £150.00. We also had the bonus of being upgraded to a suite overlooking the first tee was the icing on the cake. The course was immaculate; the service in the club house and bar was second to none although £4.00 for a coffee was a little bit steep!!!! I would just like to thank you Your Golf Travel for the quick efficient way they organised the trip and I will certainly recommend them and use Your Golf Travel again.
