We had a good two days on our golf break at the Wiltshire Golf and Country Club. The golf course is a good test for the average golfer and places an emphasis on accurate tee shots as there are 18 water hazards around the course! The greens were on the longish side but this was due to a problem of bacterial growth that had been caused by the dry weather. This had been treated and the greens had been allowed to grow a little longer and were being watered regularly. All this was relayed by a member of staff which was much appreciated.
The accommodation was fine and with the use of all of the facilities which included a gym, large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, a very enjoyable time was had by all of us. The close proximity of Wootton Bassett ensured that we were not restricted to the country club. As advised by the taxi driver there were numerous pubs that were worth while visiting with plenty of scope for standard pub style evening meals. Overall a good two days and would certainly go back again on a future golf trip.

Our golf trip to the Wiltshire was very enjoyable and highly successful; everything went according to plan and we had no problems or issues to report.
Both of the golf courses at the Wiltshire were in excellent condition and well presented. The starter/marshal kept good control on tee times and the pace of play was good. There is a lot of water on the Lakes Course so course management is key to a good score. We had golfers ranging from 13H/C to 28H/C and they all enjoyed both of the golf courses.
The atmosphere in the clubhouse was great and we were welcomed as if we were all members. The cost of food and drink was good value for money and there were good changing room facilities.
The only way I can describe the hotel is 'excellent'. Unlike many other hotels we have stayed at on golf breaks The Wiltshire was very good value for money and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble; food is excellent with a variety of choices well presented and served promptly. The rooms in the hotel are OK for size and I for one found the bed very comfortable. They are kept clean and tidy and have tea/coffee,tv,wifi and telephone available for use.
We would rate The Wiltshire as a 9/10 - We were a party of 24 senior golfers from Oxford visiting the Wiltshire for the third year running and we find it a perfect venue for us to have a golf break.
As usual the service from Your Golf Travel was very efficient and professional an we had quick responses to any questions we asked. I would recommend YGT to other golf groups and friends looking to go on a golf break in the UK or a golf holiday further afield.

On arrival at The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf & Country Club we were made welcome and although we couldn't get into the room we were able to go to the coffee lounge and get a very tasty bacon bap and a welcome drink. We met the starter who said that if we were ready to go off early then we could do so. He gave us the buggy key and we soon loaded up and headed off to the first tee. He carefully explained the layout of the course and suggested that we follow the two guys in front of us as they had visited the golf course on previous occasions. Pleased to say that both of us managed to par the first hole having avoided the water hazard. The round was not totally uneventful and a few balls were never to be seen again. A thoroughly enjoyable round on a fantastic golf course.
When we arrived back at the hotel all of the necessary info was very nicely handed over to us by very attentive, helpful staff who were fantastic throughout the golf break.
I have to say that I would thoroughly recommend the golf package at the Wiltshire Hotel. The hotel itself was clean and the rooms were more than adequate, the food was good and the golf course was really enjoyable despite some questionable weather. A really good golf break was had by all and we would certainly think of revisiting again next year.

The course was in great condition and the greens were like carpets. The overall layout was good with some challenging holes especially when playing into the wind and some great holes over water. This is a thinking man’s golf course so anyone who enjoys a good bit of course management will enjoy this course.
The staff were all great; receptionists where very helpful and friendly as were the bar staff. Unfortunately the drinks were on the pricey side but on the other hand the food was great! We had a lunch on our first day which was great and the breakfast was a buffet style cooked breakfast with good choice and was very enjoyable also.
The bedrooms were good; a bit basic but we didn’t require qnyhting too flashy as weren’t planning on spending much time in them anyway! The facilities in the hotel where great and we had free use of the gym and the swimming pool.
If you are looking for some fun in the evenings then head to Swindon as the local town is quite quiet.
Overall the golf break was very good and would give it an 8/10 with no real complains or problems. For £36 we would recommend to others and would definitely go again. Your Golf Travel’s help and responses were great and every time we had a query or problem it was dealt with quickly and efficiently with the minimum of fuss. We liked the texts we received on the day we arrived to wish us a happy golf holiday...this was a nice touch.
Already looking at golf breaks for Easter!

The staff at any well appointed Golf & Country club always create the first impression for me and I must confess that those present at The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf & Country Club were ALL wonderful. They were very helpful, comfortable with the careless golfer's banter and nothing was too much trouble.
The golf courses, despite the greens having recently been hollow tined, were in great condition and a good test of golf. The Garden Course is a fantastic option for beginners or those lacking the energy to play a full 18 holes. Keith, the starter, was charming, helpful and funny.
The accommodation and breakfast were both first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to any group wishing to take advantage of one of Wiltshire's finest assets and, as a bonus, it is not too far to Royal Wootton Bassett, a delightful little country town, either. My party were puzzled by the cost though, £36.00 for this splendour, incredible!
