The Isle of Purbeck's golf club was originally formed in 1892, and is among the most spectacular courses in England. Visitors will enjoy splendid views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, but the terrific scenery is not the Isle of Purbeck's only selling point; the course has consistently been included in Golf World's list of the top 100 in Great Britain.

Past owners include the children's author Enid Blyton, and it was under her stewardship that the club added the nine-hole Dene Course to the original Purbeck layout. The Purbeck may only measure 6,295 yards, but there is no shortage of menace in the shape of the heather and devilish bunkers. Arguably the most picturesque course in the area, the Isle of Purbeck is a firm favourite on Bournemouth's excellent golfing trail.
