The original nine holes were conceived by Willie Park Junior, a two-time Open Champion in the tournaments formative years. Over the intervening years, the City of Derry Golf Club has evolved and developed into the excellent 27-hole complex in place today.
The main championship course, known as the Prehen, is a good test of parkland golf measuring over 6,400 yards. Magnificent views of the River Foyle and the hills behind merely embellish the terrific golfing experience to be enjoyed at the City of Derry Golf Club during a golf tour in Northern Ireland.
