Old Course
The Old Course, laid out by the legendary Old Tom Morris, is a links in the classic sense. Though not particularly long, Old Tom has protected his gem with bundles of gorse and numerous deep pot bunkers. He must have been very keen on his own creation, as he often played it himself.
New Course
The New Course, converted into an 18 hole test in 1979 by the late Sir Henry Cotton, is an equally challenging proposition. Cotton however, as is the case with many of his other creations, has placed the emphasis on accurate ball-striking from the tee; stray off line and the punishment will be uncompromising.
The combination of these two courses makes Moray a worthy stop on the Highland golfing trail.
The clubhouse at Moray buys barrels of local single malt whisky and matures them on site. The current tipple is the fantastic 12-year-old Macallan.
