GOLF RESORT KONOPISTE

Location: Konopište, Central Bohemia, 2 miles West of Benešov, 30 miles South of Prague

There is little to parallel the Konopiště Golf Resort in the Czech Republic. Not only is it within easy reach of Prague, but it also boasts two par-72 championship course, as well as a nine-hole academy course, making it the perfect golfing option for a trip to the Prague area.

Radecky Course
The Radecky Course at Konopiště is a brute from the back tees; carved through some impressive woodland, the course can be stretched to 7,090 yards at its peak. Named after the original occupiers of the estate, the Radecky was constructed in consultation with the European PGA, and is a cracking test for even the low handicappers.

d'Este Course
The resort’s second course is named the d’Este Course, and although it is also a par-72, its length of 6,695 yards makes that target seem a great deal more manageable. D’Este is not without is challenges however; the fairways are hemmed tightly at times by the estate’s impressive woodland, so playing conservatively for position is often prudent.

Public Course
Konopiště’s academy layout is called the Public Course, and is perfect for learners or those in need of some short game practice. The courses at Konopiště are maintained to a great standard, which is why so many take the time to venture out of Prague for some Czech Republic golf.

The 4* Manor Hotel at the Konopiště Resort offers comfortable accommodation set in the magnificent surroundings of the beautifully converted mansion.

Original period features from the building’s 14th century roots have been wisely retained, but these are now complemented by the facilities and amenities necessary from a good contemporary hotel, including satellite television, safe, mini-bar, en-suite bathroom and telephone.

The surrounding natural beauty of the estate is unsurpassed, and an exceptionally warm welcome is assured at Konopiště which is a firm favourite with golfing groups looking to take advantage of the charms and delights of central Prague.

In addition to the golf, the resort and its surroundings offer both clay pigeon shooting and pheasant hunting.

Prague came to the fore in the 1990s as both a culture and party destination. With the advent of flights from the value carriers, the city is much more accessible, and this has resulted in some of the original polish of the city’s veneer being dampened somewhat. However, what has not been dulled is Prague’s nightlife; the bars and clubs are as lively as the main square is beautiful.

Konopiště has a driving range with grass teeing areas, and a dedicated short game practice area.

You can find absolutely anything in Prague; trendy bars and cafés are entwined with some of Europe’s leading nightclubs.

Roxy (33 Dlouha) is where the most famous international DJs play in Prague, while around the city’s old square, there are countless bars and pubs.

With pints of excellent Czech beer available for as little as 50p, there’s no surprise that Prague is a favourite with stag and hen parties.
