LE GOLF D'ARRAS

The Championship Course at Arras was a well laid out golf course with plenty of water hazards and gentle undulations that are easy on the eye and testing to play on. The course was extremely well kept but unfortunately the bunkers weren’t up to the standard of the rest of the course…all the more reason to avoid them. We particularly enjoyed the 18th hole which winds around a lake. There were ample practice facilities including a putting area and chipping area along with a driving range and a nine hole practice course. All of this meant we were always ready and raring to go on the first tee of the Championship Course.

The clubhouse appeared to be newly built and had a restaurant as well as a bar and a meeting area. While we were there, Porsche had a two-day convention there, so it was very busy. The clubhouse appeared to be where the high society of Arras went for lunch and dinner, as there were numerous very expensive cars in the car park! The restaurant was excellent as was the food served there. The drinks prices were a little on the high side so we moseyed in and out of the local towns when we were feeling particularly thirsty!

The hotel was lovely and the rooms were perfectly suitable for a golf holiday. They were simple, nicely decorated and had all the modern touches you may need while on a golf break. The hotel had a bar and a restaurant but we chose to eat at the clubhouse or in the local town for a more relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was typical continental style and was perfect for filling up before a day on the golf course. Staff at the hotel spoke English and were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel/complex was ideally located, being just over an hours drive from the Eurotunnel at Calais, and was very easy to find, with plenty of clearly marked directions on route. The town of Arras is only a 10 minutes drive away and is well worth a visit. There are numerous restaurants and bars located around the main squares, along with shops if you are so minded.

Arras was an excellent golf course to play and the hotel was very good to stay at. Would we go back? Yes definitely, but we would take our own trolleys and walk the course because the buggies were quite expensive.

I was very impressed with Your Golf Travel. The booking was very easily made and I received a confirmation within a few days to our specification. All vouchers and itinerary were emailed to me to print off and I would definitely use YGT again.
