Breuil Course
The Breuil is the more established of the Gouverneur's two, and provides a stern test for every visiting golfer. While the course itself is a test, the magnificent surroundings and abundant wildlife make the setting a joy to behold; swans, storks and herons are among the notable residents of the estate. Measuring 6,778 yards, the Breuil course is quite flat, but it is speckled with a number of large lakes, which provide that exciting element of risk versus reward, making for a most entertaining round.

Montaplan Course
The Montaplan course is slightly shorter than its neighbour, but is an equally enjoyable proposition. At 6,555 yards, it is marginally shorter than the Breuil, but the Montaplan is maintained to an equally high standard, and is located within the same stunning environment that makes a stay at the resort so special.

Managed by former LPGA Tour player and French national champion Corinne Soulès, the resort has an excellent golf academy. In addition to a nine-hole academy course, there is an excellent driving range and a dedicated short game practice centre.

Guests visiting Gouverneur will enjoy accommodation spread across the main building and outbuildings of the traditional Chateau de Breuil. Originally the home of the Governor of Dombes, the grandiose hotel lies at the heart of an exquisite 233-hectare estate, and is home to 53 delightful bedrooms.

Whether you are located in the main or the tasteful annex, you will enjoy all the requisite features of a good modern hotel, including air-conditioning, satellite television and mini-bar. The Dombes region is famed for its gastronomic delights, and the Gouverneur's head chef makes full use of the finest local produce, including fish, game, poultry and even frogs! The Antigny dining room has been recognised by the idolised Michelin guide.

The clubhouse is the place to meet for a relaxing drink after a round, and serves an excellent golfers menu.
