Client Feedback 5 stars

The Links at St Andrews are home to the most famous golfing turf in history. Evidence suggests that golf has been played on the hallowed ground since the 1400s, and the CV of any serious golfer is incomplete without adding to this heritage.

St Andrews Links can also be booked as part of St Andrews Golf Tours. View the other courses and hotels on the tour.

Old Course
The world-famous Old Course is a regular on the Open Championship rota, and although securing a tee-time can be difficult, a round on the Old will fulfill many golfer's greatest ambition. Players tackle the Swilcan Burn, the brutal Road Hole and the Valley of Sin as they follow in the footsteps of some of golf's greatest moments.

New Course
Bordering the Old, the New Course is regarded by many as the best on the links, with some of the most famous holes in world golf. After a gentle start, the New has many difficult driving holes, bordered tightly by huge banks of yellow-flowering gorse. Played into the teeth of a strong wind, the par-4 sixth is one of the toughest in St Andrews, while the par-3 ninth which skirts the Eden Estuary is a beast, often requiring a solid 3-wood.

Jubilee Course
Closest to the West Sands, the Jubilee is arguably the toughest test in St Andrews, with numerous challenging driving holes to negotiate. Its position at the point of the estuary makes the Jubilee the most exposed to the elements, most notably so on the tee at the par-3 ninth, facing a long iron into a rock-hard green. The closing stretch features a succession of difficult par-fours, where holding together a score is as tough as it gets.

Eden Course
Often forgotten, The Eden is a shorter course than its neighbours but at points its quirkiness, borne from the fantastic ground it graces, makes scoring difficult. The long par-4 second is the hardest hole on the course, while the 5th and 8th, a delightful pair of parallel par-3s may well be the gems.

Strathtyrum Course / Balgove Course
Also available at St Andrews Links are the Strathtyrum, a gentle 18-hole course, ideal for learners, and the 9-hole Balgove which is great for beginners.

From the tee on the Road Hole, the 17th on the Old, fire your tee shot over the "O" of Hotel, written on the side of the Old Course Hotel's swimming pool.
