The three golf courses at Gullane are fortunate enough to be situated on one of the most fantastic pieces of golfing turf on Scotland's East coast. With spectacular views back to Edinburgh and across the Forth to the Kingdom of Fife, the scene is truly idyllic.
No.1 Course
Gullane No. 1 was established in 1884, and is one of the greatest golf courses in Scotland. There are some unforgettable holes here, not least the 7th, whose lofty position affords endless views, and the 3rd, which was recently included in Golf Magazine's Top 500 holes in the world article. The silky greens, pot-bunkers and knee-high rough make Gullane No. 1 absolutely essential to a golf break in East Lothian. It has also played host to the Scottish Amateur Championship and Open Championship Qualifying.
No.2 Course
Gullane No. 2 begins on the inland side of the coastal road from Edinburgh, before scaling up the hill alongside the No. 1 course. Whilst it may be shorter than its older sibling, No. 2 makes its mark with some spectacular short holes, and exceedingly tricky greens.
No.3 Course
The third course at Gullane is the most easily negotiated, but is by no means easy. Small targets and the ever-present coastal wind make scoring a genuine challenge for even the best.
