A recent development has added a further nine holes, and the championship course is now an intimidating prospect, with a standard scratch of 74. Barassie is a genuine Scottish links, with many deep pot bunkers and large, undulating greens.
Testament to the quality of the golf course is that it has hosted the 2001 British Amateur Championships, and is a regular on the Open qualifier circuit. While the welcome is warm, the facilities are also excellent, including a well-stocked professional's shop.
