WICKED STICK GOLF CLUB
Wicked Stick is the first signature John Daly design in Myrtle Beach, and there is no doubt that ‘Long John’ has brought his own inimitable style to the party. ‘Grip it and rip it’ and ‘Tee it high and let it fly’ are two of the big man’s mottos, and the golf course at Wicked Stick certainly reflects that.
The name of the course is probably a nod to the golf course at Crooked Stick, which was the site of Daly’s unlikely victory in the 1993 USPGA Championship. Wicked Stick is an inland links, with large mounds created to imitate the sand dunes of a traditional seaside courses, and a number of devilish pot bunkers.
Wicked Stick is an amazing course which can be enjoyed by every kind of golfer; there are tees to suit everyone, but only a few will be brave enough to tackle the course from the ‘Daly Tees’.
