LOCHGREEN GOLF COURSE
Part of a trio of good quality public courses in Troon, it was at Lochgreen that Jack Nicklaus qualified for his first Open Championship in 1962.
The par-74 layout is an upland links, and will challenge golfers of all standards, especially at the outset; Lochgreen opens with a 473-yard monster par-4. With several holes that are reminiscent of Royal Troon, this traditional, unfussy track is well worth a visit.
