Calcot Park Golf Club is carved into the beautiful leafy countryside of rural Berkshire, which is a truly majestic backdrop for a championship golf course. The layout was conceived by Harry S. Colt, whose vision was realised in 1930 with the course’s inauguration.
In keeping with the courses of that era, Calcot Park is not greatly long – 6,216 yards – but it is a stern yet fair test of golf. The par 70 layout presents a varied test that demands good control and creativity, as well as quality striking.
In the shadow of the majestic Calcot House, the course features some wonderful individual holes including the 13th, whose green is guarded by a devilish stream.
The local wildlife complements the estate’s remarkable natural beauty, underlining that Calcot Park is a really tremendous place to enjoy a round of championship golf during a golf tour of Berkshire and the Reading area.
