READING GOLF CLUB

Location: Emmer Green, Reading, Berkshire  RG4 8SG

Set across the undulating woodland of the Chiltern Hills, Reading Golf Club is a little known gem, and is within 3 miles of the town centre itself. With nearly a century of history and a terrific course, this is one of the best options during a Reading golf tour.

Founded in 1911 as Caversham and South Oxon Golf Club, the original layout was comprised of 12 holes devised by James Braid, the prolific Scot. A number of amendments have been made since, including the additional 6 holes completed in 1911.

The interesting design features a number of fascinating holes, including some great short holes that demand as much creativity as power. Small and tricky greens are part of the varied challenge which can be enjoyed by golfers of all standards. As beautiful as it is challenging, Reading Golf Club is a gem to include in any Berkshire golf tour.
