Location: Mortimer, Berkshire, 8 miles SW of Reading, 45 miles West of central London RG7 3AE

The excellent golf course at Wokefield Park measures 7,000 yards from the championship tees, which makes it a formidable test for any golfer. The putting surfaces are superb no matter when you visit, as they are constructed along USGA guidelines.

Berkshire is renowned for its luscious countryside, and Wokefield Park's tranquil surroundings are no different, resulting in a beautiful place to play golf. With no fewer than nine lakes littered around the course, there is no shortage of difficulty for visiting golfers to negotiate, but the outstanding surroundings should be enough to alleviate the pain of any disappointing golf.

What can I say but thoroughly enjoyable weekend for the six of us. The course is good and open with astonishing large bunkers! but also very forgiving for the type of golfer that I am. The food and service was also excellent. Many Thanks for the recommendation.

We have just returned from our golf sunday special at Wokefield Park in Reading, the package you sold us was worth every penny and I thank you for your help in choosing this venue. The hotel was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful, the golf was great, a very nice course with plenty of very large and well placed bunkers and plenty of water hazards to keep us on our toes. The golfing staff were very helpful as well, they even managed to tee us off a bit earlier today so we didn't get cought up in too much traffic on our home journey. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and one that I hope later in the year we can repeat.... Thanks again....

I have to say that both my colleague and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Reception was satisfactory, room was excellent and very well equipped. Staff in the bar and restaurants were friendly and helpful, food was very good and plentiful and there was no queuing for breakfast. I would not hesitate to return or recommend this location.

As for the golf? Great course, kept in excellent condition and a real challenge for the "social" golfer which I am. The rough was really rough - if you hit into the long grass, just forget about finding the ball (a combination of wet weather and glorious sunshine made it difficult to cut the long grass). Fairways were superb, greens fast and true. We had tremendous value from the course - played every fairway (not necessarily in the right order!) and the yards we walked were far in excess than the yardage on the scorecard.

Superb venue and a great experience all round, from booking the weekend to arriving home. Now looking forward to our next trip at Belton Woods in a weeks time. Many thanks for your help. Regards,

Weekend was good, hotel was large - rooms basic but comfortable - food at dinner good. We stayed in Mansion House but had to eat in the restaurant by the golf club which entailed a walk in stilleto's but not too much moaning from the ranks! Golf was good on the Saturday, we all liked the course and enjoyed the weekend.
