Founded in 1922, East Renfrewshire is among the most established of the golf clubs that surround Glasgow, and boasts a terrific parkland course. Known locally as ‘East Ren’, the course was formulated by the prolific James Braid, the man responsible for many of the country’s most celebrated designs.

The 6,107 yard layout exudes all the typical characteristics of a Braid design – undulating fairways, elevated tees and plateau greens. While it is by no means the longest course, East Renfrewshire has all the subtle and challenging characteristics that you would expect of the architect.
The signature hole is surely the rousing closing hole, a par 4 that measures over 450 yards. When the wind is not in the player’s favour, this finishing hole under the watchful gaze of the clubhouse can be a brutal climax, and one that is typical of the challenge and quality awaiting at East Renfrewshire.
