Gifford is one of East Lothian's most picturesque villages, with a rich history dating back to 1267 when Sir Hugo Gifford instructed the building of Yester Castle. The Tweeddale Arms Hotel is itself a relic of Gifford's tradition, dating back to 1687, and it makes a quaint and charming place to start a golf tour.
