1 Night, 2 Rounds
- 1 Night Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa
- 2 Rounds at Ufford Park Golf Club
1 Night, 2 Rounds
Tucked into 120 acres of historic parkland in the Suffolk countryside, Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa is a smart pick for a UK golf break that keeps everything on site. The championship course has hosted PGA EuroPro events, so there's real pedigree, but it's not a stuffy members' club setup. You're just outside Woodbridge and less than a mile from the A12, which makes it an easy run for a weekend escape in the East of England.
The 4-star hotel brings the comfort factor with 87 rooms, a proper leisure club with pool and gym, and a spa that's ideal if you want to mix a couple of rounds with a bit of downtime. Views across the Deben Valley give it that "out in the countryside" feel, but you're still close enough to town for a change of scenery after golf.
If you're planning a society trip, the lodge accommodation and private dining options make organising the group side straightforward. If you're travelling as a couple, it's an easy way to pair golf with spa time without needing to drive anywhere between.
On the golf side, expect a mature parkland layout with a few holes that ask you to shape shots rather than just lash driver. It's a good test from the back tees, but still enjoyable off the forward options, especially for mixed-ability groups. Ufford Park is best played when the wind gets up a touch, it brings the parkland hazards into play and makes you think about club selection rather than just going at every flag.
Who is this for?
Golfers or groups looking for a quality short break in the East of England that combines a genuine championship test with comfortable resort facilities, spa access and easy road links from London, the Midlands or East Anglia.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who want to play a course with tour pedigree, societies seeking a hassle-free base with group dining and lodge accommodation, and couples pairing golf with spa and relaxation in a peaceful countryside setting.

Ufford Park Golf Resort is a serious golf destination. The 18-hole, Par 71, parkland golf course is spread across 120 acres of unspoilt Suffolk countryside. Its gently undulating greens are demanding and enjoyable. A host to the EuroPro Tour, Ufford Park has excellent natural drainage enabling it to be open all year round and is consistently voted in Today’s Golfer’s Top 40 winter course in Great Britain. Eleven water hazards exist, including a large reservoir, which is used for greens, tees and fairway watering.
The extensive practice facilities include a floodlit two-tier driving range, with heaters, an 18-hole putting green, and 5 hole pitch & putt course. Whether you’re a complete novice or low handicap veteran, the professionals at The Doctorgolf Academy can help improve your game.
The golf club also hosts the American Golf Retail store with its custom club fitting and huge range of equipment, clothing and accessories - it’s worth a visit in its own right.
The resort sits in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, surrounded by rolling parkland and views across the Deben valley, yet you're close enough to Woodbridge for a post-round pint or a wander through town. The 87 en-suite bedrooms are split across Standard, Superior and Premier categories, many with balconies looking out over the fairways and valley beyond. If you're travelling as a group, the Golfers Lodge is a handy option, sleeping up to 12 and giving you your own space away from the main hotel. It's ideal for societies or friends' trips where you want a bit more room to spread out between rounds.
Rooms are well appointed without being flashy, with comfortable beds, decent showers and enough space to unpack properly if you're staying a few nights. The Superior and Premier categories give you a bit more square footage and better views, but the Standard rooms are perfectly fine if you're spending most of your time on the course or in the spa. I'm a sucker for a resort where you can finish 18 holes, grab a drink and be in the spa ten minutes later, and Ufford Park delivers on that front.
Dining is centred on the Waterside Restaurant, which serves table d'hôte and chargrill menus with views over the course, plus a traditional Sunday lunch if you're staying over the weekend. The food is solid, estate-style cooking with locally sourced ingredients where possible, and the setting overlooking the golf course makes it a pleasant spot for dinner after a round. There's a good selection of bars and lounge areas for a drink after your round, and private dining rooms are available if you're organising a society or group trip and want to keep everyone together for the evening.
The Health Club is well equipped, with a large gym and deck-level swimming pool, while the spa is genuinely impressive, featuring a state-of-the-art thermal suite and a full menu of treatments from trained therapists. It's one of the standout spas in the region, which makes Ufford Park a strong choice if you're bringing non-golfers or want to balance a few rounds with proper relaxation. The thermal suite includes a sauna, steam room and experience showers, and you can book treatments ranging from sports massages to full spa days if you want to make a proper break of it.
Free Wi-Fi runs throughout the resort, and there are over 200 free parking spaces, so logistics are straightforward whether you're arriving solo or with a full minibus. The location just off the A12 makes it easy to reach from London, the Midlands or East Anglia, and you're only a short drive from the Suffolk coast if you fancy a change of scenery on a rest day.

Excellent value for money, excellent dinner, comfy beds, friendly helpful staff. Nice pool and jacuzzi that was welcome after a round of golf. Only downsides were lack of cups for the coffee machine, and the queues only 1 coffee machine created at breakfast, hotel a little tired but that did not distract from a very good value stay.

Rooms bit dated, small and some very hot, uncomfortably hot. Staff brilliant, but no meals booked with restaurant, had to show booking to get reservations, on all nights Three rooms made up as double beds, as it mens golf trip you would have thought the rooms be all made up as single beds, but they did send staff up to remake beds.

Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Evening dinner was very good. Although the staff were pleasant, there was a long wait in between courses and plates were not cleared away for about 15 minutes, which was surprising as there were only 6 people in the restaurant. Unfortunately, breakfast was inedible as the food had obviously been left on the hotplate for a couple of hours. The fried eggs in particular were like rubber and as hard as golf balls. Having said that it would not deter us from staying at the hotel in the future.

Very enjoyable course, good use of the terrain with some very scenic holes. Water was in play on a number of holes with a nice balance of risk and reward. Greens were a little bumpy. Staff at pro desk very helpful. Play was a little slow on first day, but no big delays on second round. Our society enjoyed it and will be back, hopefully when less windy and a bit warmer!

Difficult off the whites with 25mph winds on the day we played, but easier off the yellows although a lot of our group still struggled (they blamed the wind). Difficult pin positions which didnt help us (thats just the way it goes) but overall greens were in good condition. only 18th looked like it needs repair but pin was at the front of green where it wasnt as bad. We would come back.

The course was a very enjoyable challenge with lots of interesting holes and some real risk and reward. Definitely one to have played before to understand the set up and where to play. The videos available online are very helpful for that. The greens are fast and when we played slightly bobbled unfortunately. It is the tail end of winter so understandable and they are undoubtedly better once properly dried out. Course facilities are rudimentary although there is a driving range and putting green which are great for a warm up. The staff are very friendly and helpful and everything is done with a smile. It does look like work is being done on the golf reception area so hopefully the facilities in this regard will improve. It definitely does not detract from the experience however.
