The Woodbridge Golf Club, located at Bromeswell Heath, is an excellent example of traditional heathland golf, and is among the finest treasures to be found in East Anglia. The Heath Course is the championship layout at Woodbridge, which also boasts a nine hole course, the Forest, which is by no means a pitch-and-putt.

The Heath Course was originally conceived by Scottish professional Davie Grant in 1893, but like many of the area's best traditional courses, including Thorpeness, Woodbridge fell under the radar of the great James Braid.
The esteemed Scot designed some of the country's best links and heathland courses, and his revision of Grant's Heath design ensured that it remains a delight today. Like many old-fashioned courses, length is not a major factor; in fact, the Heath measures just 6,299 yards at its peak.
However, the Heath exudes subtlety and guile, reflecting its designer's considerable skill, and is a fantastic test even for highly skilled players. Woodbridge is typical of the best golf to be found in East Anglia, and its traditional Heath course comes highly recommended as part of a Suffolk golf tour.
