Brunel Course / Severn Course / Avon Course
The Brunel tests visitors with its small, raised greens and the tricky water hazards, demanding accurate approach iron play above all else. The longest nine is the Severn, which allows the longer players to open their shoulders from the tee. However, the greens are large, and feature subtle breaks, which demand maximum attention. The shortest of Woodspring's three loops is the Avon, which makes up for its lack of length with some superbly formulated holes.
Strategy and course management are the most valuable traits around the Avon, which rounds off the delights of Woodspring Country Club as part of a Bristol golf tour.
