Situated on Worlebury hill, Worlebury Golf Club lies roughly midway between the M5 and the seaside town of Weston super Mare. Its location affords stunning views overlooking the Severn Estuary, Wales and The Mendips. The course was one of a number designed by Harry Vardon (winner of 7 major championships) and his brother Alfred, who was the club professional for 16 years.
The well manicured 5,850-yard par-70 parkland layout flows through several, slightly undulating, walled and tree-lined fields. It has an entertaining mix of holes providing a challenge to the lower handicapper, without intimidating the less proficient golfer. Good course management skills will be needed to assure a respectable score, which is reflected in the present course record of 66. Its gently undulating terrain makes it a pleasure to play for visiting golfers of all ages.
The clubhouse offers all the modern facilities to enhance a golf day and can cater for small and large groups. The lounge is the ideal place to relax with a drink and discuss the ups and downs of the round. It has spectacular panoramic views of the Welsh coast, hills and mountains, stretching from the second Severn Crossing onto, and beyond Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. The bar offers a large selection of beers, wines and soft drinks at competitive prices. Managed by the steward and her friendly staff, they ensure that your golfing day at Worlebury will be a memorable one.
