At 6,611 yards from the championship tees, Worsley Park is not the longest tournament course around, but the work of European Golf Design, in conjunction with Michael King, has made it a good test that will be enjoyed by all those who visit. The strategic use of the existing features of the landscape has allowed the course to mature in harmony with its surroundings, giving it a mature feel.
The natural undulations, trees and water make for particularly tricky obstacles, and there is no doubt that course management and strategy are the most valuable qualities for those seeking to compile a good score. Worsley Park is also proud to have a 250-metre driving range, which is designed in line with USGA specifications.
Playing at Worsley Park, you may well spot the stars of Manchester United; in the past few years both Ryan Giggs and Sir Alex Ferguson have chosen to host their charity golf days here.
Hotel Information
A golf break at Worsley Park is the total experience. In addition to the established golf course, the resort also boasts a superb 158-bedroom hotel, which is designed specifically to meet the demands of both leisure and business travellers.
Set in 200 acres of land that was formerly the Duke of Bridgewater’s private estate, the hotels 158 stylishly appointed bedrooms are spacious and have all the modern comforts and amenities that are required for a leisurely and productive stay, including satellite television, high-speed internet and more.
Following the recent multi million pound refurbishment this is one of the more astute choices for a golf break, as Worsley Park has not only superb facilities for golf, leisure and accommodation, but also has superb access to both Manchester and the motorway network.
The leisure club on-site has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and whirlpool, while the gymnasium has excellent cardiovascular equipment and a range of free weights to tone the physique. The Spa of Senses is a superb complex, whose treatments include body wraps, scrubs, massages, facials, manicures and pedicures.
The newly rebranded and refurbished restaurant ‘The Dining Rooms at Worsley Park’ offers a contemporary dining experience offering the finest regional ingredients.

Our weekend golf break at Worsley Park was a great success and all aspects of Worsley Park were fantastic. The golf course was in exemplary condition especially bearing in mind the inclement weather we experienced over the weekend. The hotel was superb including a wonderful breakfast. We decided to forgo the 3 course meal in the restaurant and instead took advantage of the £21.50 per head allowance in the bar area. This was a great idea as we replenished ourselves heartily whilst watching the Challenge Cup semi final.
Our party of 4 consisted of wide ranging golfing abilities. My brother knocked it round in 73 & 69 whilst another hit two 130’s, and yet the enjoyment of the course was equal for all. This is a good indication that Worsley Park is a good golf break destination for golfers of any ability.
A great golf holiday was had by all so many thanks for your personal involvement in arranging matters. I will definitely look at booking similar trips through Your Golf Travel.

This was the first Sunday Special golf break package I’ve been on and I was just as impressed as many of my group who has been on such golf breaks before.
The golf course was in outstanding condition considering the wet summer in the North West. Firm fairways, fast greens and a good overall presentation was lovely to see and made playing the course all the more pleasurable. The signature hole was the par 4 7th and the risk vs. reward par 4 12th will really stick in my memory. Playing conditions were testing with a stiff breeze on Sunday and the tail end of Hurricane Katrina on Monday but all our players returned with smiles on their faces.
The rooms in the hotel were excellent and so was the quality of the food. We filled so much on food that there was little room left for beers afterwards! Having said that the beers we did buy were a tad overpriced. There are pubs in walking distance if you fell like venturing out but with a group of 30 blokes and a presentation to do we just stayed put. To top off the weekend the staff were all extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome.
All in all our Worsley Park golf break was great. I heard no complaints about the course, the hotel or the food so I would have to give the golf trip a 9/10 as there is always room to improve!

Firstly a big thank you to Paul to Your Golf Travel for recommending Worsley Park for our summer golf break. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the venue as a whole.
Our hotel rooms were really comfortable and the facilities and amenities were fine as well. The golf course was very good indeed. The weather was good and although there was a strong wind blowing we all managed to score ok. The dinner we had, which was included in the price of our golf break, was top class and we all went to bed very content indeed!
We thought our golf break represented great value for money and the service was also good. Thanks again YGT, we shall use your services again as this was one of the best golf breaks we have been on in the UK.
