Your Golf Travel.com is preparing to welcome 60 golfers to the Belfry after they fought off thousands of other entrants to reach the grand final of the National Golf Club Challenge.
Europe’s largest online golf travel retailer is sponsoring the event which will see teams from The Players Club, Bristol; Weston Super Mare Golf Club; Cherwell Edge GC, Oxfordshire; Cams Hall Estate, Marriott Meon Valley, and Wickham Park, all Hampshire, battle it out for the overall title.
They reached the grand final after more than 300 golf clubs across the UK held qualifying events on the same weekend and submitted their top 10 Stableford scores, with the six finalists boasting the best totals.
Now the six teams will compete for the Lee Westwood Cup on October 11-12 on the Belfry’s world-renowned Brabazon course, which has hosted the Ryder Cup a record four times.
As well as the trophy and prestige of holding the national title, the winning team will also receive a luxury break at the five-star Egyptian Marriott Taba Heights resort with a host of other fantastic prizes going to the teams that miss out including golf trips with Your Golf Travel.com.
The event has so far raised more than £200,000 for Help for Heroes and with donations still coming in organisers hope injured servicemen will eventually benefit from more than a quarter of a million pounds.
