Zaudín Club Golf is relatively young, having been completed in 1992, but it gives the impression of having been around for a lot longer - and it has already built a reputation for being one of the best golf clubs in the Seville area.
That perception of maturity is created at the outset by the traditional-looking but very elegant and stylish clubhouse. The vista from the clubhouse terrace is an attraction in itself, taking in the 17th and 18th holes, two large lakes and distant views over the beautiful city of Seville.
The clubhouse, combined with a course which has many strands of mature trees and has tees and greens of the highest quality, endows the whole area with an established feel beyond its years.
The course was created by one of the best architects of his generation, the legendary South African golfer, Gary Player. It flows through orange and olive trees with generous fairways leading you to large rolling greens. The 17th, with its large lake on the left side, could be regarded as the signature hole, both for its difficulty and its stunning views, but the whole course is thoroughly enjoyable and set up to cater to all abilities. There are four teeing areas, with the back tees stretching the par-71 course to just under 7,000 yards.
The club is located just 10 minutes by road from the centre of Seville, in the zone of the Aljarafe, and at an altitude which not only provides wonderful views but in the summer also keeps the temperature up to four degrees cooler than in the city.
There are lots of other facilities on offer here, including a snack-bar, restaurant, gym and two swimming pools, so it's a great place to visit for the day as well as for a round of golf.
