Formerly known as the Nissan Open and originally as the LA Open, The Northern Trust Open was first played in 1926 and is now one of the standout tournaments on the PGA Tour thanks to its rich history, as well as the calibre of player who have entered the event throughout its history.
While the tournament has travelled around a little throughout the years, it has made a home out of Riviera Country Club since heading there in 1973 and since then, champions have included the likes of Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Sir Nick Faldo, with other former champs from years gone by including Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan.
