Casa de Campo Golf Holiday Review

By November 18, 2010No Comments

Casa de CampoWe had a great time at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.  Apart from torrential rain on the first two days (which dried out amazingly quickly), we had plenty of sunshine and were able to play all the golf.  The three courses are superb, the best in our opinion was “Teeth of the Dog” maybe because we both played it particularly well!  The Dye Fore course was also great, and the Links was perhaps the least picturesque but still very enjoyable.

The buggies provided to get around the resort are a necessity as it is very large!  The beach was about 10 minutes buggy ride away, but the Restaurant and the beach itself were well worth visiting.  The staff throughout the resort couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly especially in the Restaurants and bars.  The food was excellent and the wine with the “all inclusive” deal was very good.  Breakfast was buffet style and could perhaps have been a bit more adventurous but as we had eaten so well at other times of day, it’s probably just as well.

The Resort is predominantly American (they use it as a short break destination) and we didn’t hear another English voice until we got back to Gatwick!  Maybe, with a bit of promotion there could be a few more Brits out there.

All in all a very successful holiday – thank you.  Will certainly be looking to travel back to Casa de Campo for our next Caribbean Golf Holiday.

Have travelled far and wide to be able to contribute to the 19th hole blog. Often referred to as one of the most boring people in golf due to my facts and figures about different destinations!
