East Sussex National ‘goes live’

By October 26, 2010No Comments

We’re offering some unbeatable deals at one of the south of England’s premier golf venues, East Sussex National. For the cost of a tank of petrol you can enjoy golf, dinner, bed and breakfast , staying at East Sussex National ‘s sumptuous 4* hotel, renowned for its standards of service and facilities. The rooms feature walk-in showers and wall-mounted TVs, whilst the outstanding dining and leisure facilities enhance the experience even further.

But, brilliant as it is, you won’t want to stay inside the hotel for too long. Our packages include golf over both East Sussex National’s majestic championship courses.

The East Course is a rare treat, designed to test the talent of the world’s finest golfers and has hosted the European Open and the European Tour Qualifying School in its time. If you hit it like a pro, play it from the back tees and enjoy every one of its highly entertaining 7,138 yards. Thanks to multiple teeing areas, golfers of all handicaps can enjoy this superb layout though. Well bunkered greens and fairways are a feature of the front nine, before the challenging back nine tests you with what is arguably one of the best finishing stretches in golf.

The West Course, meanwhile, is often regarded as the more scenic, but is tighter from the tee and and more undulating. It doesn’t feel longer than the East Course, but it is, in fact, 7,154 yards from the tiger tees. Just as on the East, though, there are tees to suit varying standards of golfer.

On the West Course’s long 17th, see if you can emulate the mighty John Daly in carrying your drive over the towering oak tree that guards the right side of the fairway. And the 18th is a treat too. In the opinion of many, this is one of the most underrated finishing holes you could find. From the tee an accurate drive is essential on to a tree lined fairway, followed by a shot into a heavily guarded green with the backdrop of East Sussex National’s magnificent clubhouse beyond – and the prospect of an audience awaiting you.

Nerve wracking? Maybe. Fun? Definitely!
