All eyes on Rory McIlroy this week as he returns to bona fide European Tour action at the Turkish Airlines Open at the Montgomerie Maxx Resort in Antalya.

After a frustrating season, there is every chance that the real Rory might stand up here and run away with this – it’s a course that could have been made for him. With five par-5s (and five par-3s) it suits aggressive golf, and there is no better exponent in the world than an on-form McIlroy. Aggressive doesn’t necessarily mean big-hitting, although the booming Brooks Koepka won here last year – it means setting up birdie opportunities wherever possible. The greens are devilish here so getting it as close as possible is key, as is some course experience.

But while Rory should have every chance at 9/2, that’s a very short price. Behind him in the betting are a gaggle of players with proven course form who are likely to be in the mix on Sunday.
