Georgia Hall earns European Tour card

Despite narrowly missing out on top spot to Danish amateur Nanna Madsen, Georgia Hall earned her card on the Ladies European Tour next season after leading for the first four rounds of the qualifying period.

The 18-year-old Brit was in control heading into the final round but a stunning 63 from Madsen meant Hall ended the day two shots back on 17 under in Marrakech on Sunday.

Hall’s closing 71 was still easily good enough to secure her place on Tour next season, though, with the top 30 and ties all handed a spot.

“I thought there would be a four under, five under and I thought if I shot one or two under that would do it,” she said.

“I didn’t play that well but I didn’t play that badly either. I’m definitely pleased to have my tour card and I’ve done what I needed to do at the end of the day.”

Hall was one of a host of Britons to make the grade with fellow Englishwomen Emma Goddard, Alex Peters and Amber Ratcliffe all making it alongside Scots Kelsey Macdonald, Heather Macrae and Laura Murray.
