Nothing quite beats a golf holiday and once in a while every golf enthusiast should push the boat and take their clubs abroad for a new experience and to take on the challenge of judging the metres instead of yards!
With the golf season quickly coming to an end, it is time to look ahead and 2016 will be another big year for golf in America. The Masters at Augusta, the US Open at Oakmont Country Club, the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club and of course, the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine will cause excitement and drama as it always does.
The US is home to a host of amazing courses and if you have never experienced it or fancy a cheap getaway, Your Golf Travel have a range of golf holidays in America for under £1000.
Myrtle Beach – South Carolina
Myrtle beach really is a golfer’s haven with more than 100 championship courses stretching across the Carolina coastline. 10 of America’s top 100 public courses can be found in the Myrtle Beach area and for less than £900 you can stay for seven nights, play four or five rounds of golf on different courses all with flights included.
Not only is the golf on a different level, there is an array of white sandy beaches to relax and some extremely lively nightlife if you enjoy a night out on the town.
Orlando Golf Tour – Florida
An ideal holiday destination for families with attractions such as Disney Land with four theme parks and two water parks, Orlando has an array of top quality hotels. But if you can escape the madness then there is some terrific golf on offer. For less than £800, you can buy flights, have seven nights at a hotel and play four rounds of golf, making it one of the best deals around.
Courses such as the Championship Course at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge and Metrowest Golf Club are on offer and the accommodation is specifically selected to get the most out of your golf holiday.
Las Vegas – Nevada
The ‘City of Sin’ needs little introduction as to what to expect on a night out. It’s often indescribable and leaves little to the imagination but to drag you away from the poker tables are some outstanding golf courses perfect to cure a hangover. Play at a selection of Badlands Golf Club, Desert Pines, Alicante Golf Club and Silverstone to name a few whilst enjoying a stay at Luxor Hotel and Casino or Circus Hotel and Casino.
We’ll let you do the planning for the night out.
Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa – South Carolina
The iconic South Carolina complex is situated right on the doorstep of a white sandy beach. Not only that, it is accessible from the airport and it is located just adjacent to the Port Royal Plantation Golf resort. The region has three championship golf courses on offer to play including the Barony Course, Planters Row Course and Robbers Row Course.
Each course has its own unique element and they are well worth a round. Robber’s Row occupies historic civil war land and there are landmarks and points of interest dotted around the estate. Planters row is one that will get the brain working. It’s narrow and challenging with water coming into play on 10 of the 18 holes. It has also been host to a Senior’s PGA Tour event.
Finally, Barony was the first course to be built on the island early in 1960. For those who like to pull out the big stick then this course will suit but it will prove a challenge around the difficult greens.
Palm Mountain Resort – California
If you want luxury, spa facilities, impeccable service and championship golf then there is no reason to look further. A desert city, Palm Springs is notable for its fine examples of midcentury- modern architecture and its core shopping district.
For £949, Your Golf Travel can offer flights, seven nights and four rounds of high quality golf. Two of the rounds will be at the Terra Lago resort with their two courses with another two at Tahquitz Golf Resort.
