Reunion Resort is lucky enough to occupy a really envious location, which is probably why it’s one of the most popular resorts in the whole of Florida. Orlando International Airport making is only a short 30 minute drive away so it’s really easy to journey from the UK. Disney’s West Entrance is only 6 miles from the resort, making it the ideal base for the whole family. Situated in an exclusive 2,300 acre commune means that there are copious amounts of space to relax but also means that you won’t get the sense of overpopulation at the resort as everything is spread out across the grounds.
Weather
The best thing about Florida (compared to the UK anyway) has to be the all year round fantastic climate – there’s a reason why they call it the ‘Sunshine State’! If only this was the case everywhere, we’d all be able to play a lot more great golf! The lowest average temperatures come in January and even then it’s still above 16 degrees centigrade! So why put up with the winter months in the UK when you can experience some fabulous golf in Orlando, Florida?
Golf
Now onto the good bit, golf! There are three awesome courses for you to make your way round at The Reunion Resort – each designed by a legend of the game. First off is the Legacy Course, designed by Arnold Palmer who incorporated the natural undulations and sharp slopes to produce a course which requires a creative short game to score well. The Risk vs. Reward theme runs throughout and makes the Legacy a thoroughly enjoyable track. The Independence Course was laid out by future USA Ryder Cup Captain Tom Watson, who chose to create a bit of a monster! At 7,257 yards it’s certainly no pushover and requires a solid strategy to avoid the countless bunkers which are peppered around the course, every shot in the bag will be required to score low round. Finally the third is the Tradition Course which was mapped out by none other than Jack Nicklaus. In contrast to its two compatriots it has a considerably flatter layout, but with the large expanses of water and sand, the Golden Bear’s design will provide a tough challenge for all levels of golfer, whilst at the same time it is sure to be a highlight of your trip to Orlando. The Reunion Resort is even able to cater for you if the aim is to improve your game as its home to the ANNIKA Academy, a comprehensive facility that couples Sorenstam’s holistic attitude to golf with the most innovative tuition technology available in the world.

The Reunion Resort offers a great range of accommodation making it the ideal destination for large groups, families and couples alike. The styles of the villas are not overly flamboyant but have all the furnishings that you would expect from a luxury five star hotel. They really are a ‘home from home’. You will also be able to find a wide range of restaurants and bars to suit every occasion. From gastronomic fine dining at Forte where you can find stupendous traditional Italian cuisine, to the laid back Grill at the Water Park where you can enjoy all-American casual style foods or relax with a cocktail by the pool.
Walt Disney World
If you plan on taking the kids with you to you’re in luck as the resort is located at just 6 miles from Disney’s Lands West Entrance making it the ideal base for a family holiday. This means that you’ll be able to earn brownie points with the kids, whilst you can enjoy some of the best golf that Florida has to offer, leaving them at the crèche…err I mean Walt Disney World (under suitable supervision of course). Disney Land has an abundance of activities to keep the little ones busy and happy for weeks and weeks on end, so you needn’t worry too much about keeping them entertained.
