Heritage Le Telfair Review – Mauritius

By January 20, 2011No Comments

Heritage Le TalfairWe have just come back from a fabulous golf holiday at Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, situated on the southwestern coast of Mauritius, nestled between the Indian Ocean and the lush Plaine Champagne hills.

The hotel is colonial style with 20 villas consisting of 6/8 very light and airy rooms. The main restaurant, Annabells, serves a buffet breakfast in the morning and dinner each night with a five course choice of menu.

Ginja’s which is set on the beach, serves lunch and dinner and has an oriental menu while La Palmier overlooking the ocean and pool is open in the morning until early evening serving food during this time. The Chateau, which was the manor house of the Bel Ombre estate, is open for lunch, tea and dinner. Food can also be eaten in the restaurants at the hotel next door, The Awali, which is part of the same group and we found the staff very attentive doing everything they can to make our holiday enjoyable.

The golf was superb, the course, set in the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre, surrounded by mountains, has the most beautiful scenery, is very well manicured and can be played by golfers of any standard, it is a course you will never tire of playing.

The clubhouse has a veranda overlooking the golf course, from where all but two holes can be seen, you can sit with a drink and mull over the game you have just played. Here again the staff are very attentive and do everything to make your golf enjoyable.

Overall – Le Telfair in Mauritius is a little piece of heaven on earth – we would go back tomorrow.

The service from YourGolfTravel was excellent and everything was done to ensure we had the holiday of a lifetime.
