If you want to know what the Your Golf Travel team get up to with the modest hard-earned profits they make from sending you around the world to play great golf courses, read on.

After Gordon Brown ensured that the company’s pension funds were worth about as much as a Greek government bond, we consulted team upon team of highly trained financial advisers in our quest for viable alternatives. After much deliberation, we ignored them all and decided to stick the lot on a horse.

The bean counters laughed their heads off at our supposed idiocy, but little did they know – the YGT team had a cunning plan. We didn’t just go stroll down the bookies with a wad of cash for a one-off splash, we actually purchased a horse. Genius!

A think tank was assembled to come up with a name. It emerged from a darkened room, after  meditating for hours to the haunting calls of dolphins and whales, equipped with a brilliant name for our new nag – “Your Golf Travel Com”.

See, all that education didn’t go to waste.

“Your Golf Travel Com” failed to come close to winning in its first (ahem) six runs, but we kept the faith and on April 29 this year, at Brighton, the glory day arrived at last (and the date with the abattoir was put on hold).

Yes, “Your Golf Travel Com” came romping home at 16-1 and our office had more than a few quid on him. Who’s laughing now, eh?

If you fancy a flutter on our thoroughbred, its next outing is at Brighton or Yarmouth at the end of the May and he’s expected to feature strongly. Also, watch out for our fairways2furlongs golf and racing offers coming out next week.

I would like to congratulate everyone at Your Golf Travel on this amazing and frankly unbelievable win especially Ross and Andrew. I would imagine that all the staff down in Farringdon will be getting at least a £250 bonus each as Mr Harding did not waste anytime in telling everyone down here how much he had won and being a man known for his generosity and philanthropic ways I am sure he will not disappoint any of you.
In the unlikely event he offers any of you payment of the bonus by cheque it is only fair for you to know he got paid out in cash.
