Tewkesbury Park Review

By July 8, 2010No Comments

Tewkesbury ParkMy wife and I visited Tewksbury Park on a one night DB&B with two rounds of golf in early July 2010.

The hotel was easy to find and is very close to the charming market town of Tewksbury.

Our check in was speedy and efficient while the rooms were comfortable and well maintained. The bar was well stocked, but reasonably pricey, dinner was good, with a fair selection of starters/mains and the wine list was adequate, not too overpriced.

The breakfast buffet was comprehensive while the Indoor Pool, Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Sauna were in excellent order. We passed on the gymnasium, but it also looked to be in good condition. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful.

Pro shop was well stocked and our tee times had been booked but we were able to bring both start times forward, upon arrival, for our convenience. Course was in excellent condition, reasonably wide fairways with not too punishing rough. Plenty of trees and water on a couple of holes with the greens being true and reasonably quick. Bunkers were a little devoid of sand on the first day but this had been rectified prior to our second round.

19th Hole provided good snack menu and beverages but seemed a little pricey. This was the second trip we have main using your excellent service. The other was to Portal Hotel and Country Club. Tewksbury Park was much quieter and a little downmarket but still scores a healthy 8 out of 10.
