The Vale Resort Golf Review

By April 11, 2012No Comments

The Vale Golf ResortThe Vale is one of the most complete resorts in the UK with several important factors making it ideal for a golfing break.

Being only 15 minutes from Cardiff and 2 and ½ hours from London along the M4 it is easy to reach whilst allowing you to feel like you’ve gone far enough from home to be a proper trip. This location also allows for a night out in Cardiff or to combine golf with other activities such as Rugby at the Millennium Stadium or White Water Rafting which our group enjoyed!

The hotel offers large rooms which have en suite bathrooms and the leisure facilities are great for non golfers or to relax in after a tough round. Food is served in one of 2 restaurants with an option of private dining in the “ Boardroom” . There is a fine selection of food available as part of the package and breakfast in the morning is amongst the best of any golf resort.

The 2 golf courses complement each other with the Wales National being a tough test and the lakes giving away a few more chances for a high points score. The National starts off with a nice par four to ease you in before your confronted with the longest par 5 in Wales! This 600 + yard hole with tree lined fairways is a challenge especially when there’s water thrown in at the side of the green. The rest of the course is long and varied, meandering through the woods before you reach the resort again on the 17th. The Lakes course is shorter and flatter so good for the 2nd round of your trip. It’s easier to score points and is in the same fantastic condition as its sister course. After a round the clubhouse is a fantastic place to visit with lots indoor and outdoor seating with traditional golfers food on sale to enjoy whilst re-living your round!

The Vale is surely one of the best 2 venue resorts in the UK and thoroughly recommended for your next break! For more information on golf breaks in Wales simply visit golf holidays specialists Your Golf Travel or call 0800 043 6644

Have travelled far and wide to be able to contribute to the 19th hole blog. Often referred to as one of the most boring people in golf due to my facts and figures about different destinations!
