There’s Snow way Stonelees is closing this winter

By February 1, 2011No Comments

Whilst most golf clubs across the country have been shut because of the harsh winter weather, there is one defiant club in Kent that refuses to be beaten. Stonelees Golf Centre in Ramsgate has remained open since the first onset of snow in November, boasting some of the best practice facilities in the South-East it is the place to visit in 2011.

Opened in 1994 Stonelees has a commitment to providing golf for everyone regardless of age, ability, or income. Easily accessible from the A256 near Ramsgate it is quickly becoming one of the most popular golf centres in the area. Its facilities include three well-maintained golf courses, floodlit driving range, teaching centre, mini-golf course, indoor golf simulator and a fully licensed bar and restaurant. Also recently opened this summer was American Golf and with new resident professional Joe Jezzard starting in January 2011 it is an extremely exciting time for the club.

Joe Jezzard a PGA Professional has been offering free coaching to local children since November and by the beginning of April, hopes to have introduced over 50 children to the sport. Joe has also made contact with local schools and colleges in a quest to provide coaching to more keen young golfers. Stonelees now hopes to promote the re launch of their Young Eagles Membership through the coaching provided at the centre.

I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Stonelees. Whether to brush up on your short game at the Driving Range, play one of the most famous courses in the world in the Simulator or to prop up the bar with a drink in hand, Stonelees is guaranteed to be open in all weathers.
