La Manga Club
Having repeatedly been voted as Europe’s Leading Golf Resort, La Manga Club are taking it a step further with some new improvements, including new GPS Navigation installed on 55 Buggies, a New Golf Academy and a New Spa Treatment that offers an acceleration in anti-aging results.
New Golf Academy
September 2016 saw the arrival of La Manga’s brand new golf academy; La Manga Club Golf Training Centre. The new academy is overseen by renowned instructor Thomas Johansson who has developed a teaching plan that will focus on “determining exercises and paying attention to progressive results” so that your golf improves. He mixes a Swedish, English and Spanish style of teaching so that all methods of training are covered and so lessons can be taught in a variety of languages to provide a really personal experience.
New Fleet of Buggies
In March 2016, La Manga took the decision to modernise all of their buggy fleet by installing a GPS navigation system into each buggy. The system will be touch screen and will provide information for each of the courses including an aerial view of each hole, distances to the: green, obstacles and water hazards. The GPS will also offer the capability to run reports on each round to include scores and statistics.
There is also a feature which alerts players if they are behind time, so hopefully it can help cure the age-old issue of slow play!
“The more you use the system the better it is, it can adapt to show the marked distance to wherever on the course the golfer touches on the screen”
~ Eduardo Ruiz, Director of Golf
The new technology is currently installed on 55 Golf Buggies but soon to be 120!
Spike Bar Re-opens
Also in September 2016, The Spike Bar reopened after a two week renovation as The 37 Spike & Sports Bar with a new menu and design. The new bar design is based on a traditional sports bar with 5 big screen TV’s perfect for catching the latest live sport and a new modern, bright space to chat freely whilst overlooking the golf course. The bar also offers three unique sections dedicated to golf’s greatest golfers. There is a Seve section where you can admire the original bag he used when he played at La Manga and the two other spaces include photographic memorabilia dedicated to the late Arnold Palmer and Gary Player.
Piano Bar Re-opens
As of October, the Piano Bar has re-opened after a recent renovation that includes a new interior style, a new cocktail menu and a White Piano! The Piano bar concept matched with a new colour scheme of white, black and purple as well as the new creative cocktail menu really adds value to the nightlife choices at La Manga.
New Spa Treatment Available
The Diamond Extreme Night Dual Treatment
This is the latest in skincare innovation that accelerates anti-aging results and revitalizes your skin.
The treatment itself combines two powerful nutrient products to beautify your skin.
The first is the Diamond Extreme Oil, which is an advanced anti-aging formula that fuses bio-compatible fuels to help regenerate the skin. Following this, a facial massage is then used to improve micro-circulation and make the skin more receptive to the Diamond Extreme Oil.
Then the other product, the Diamond Extreme Mask is applied to act as a protector and seal in the oil to protect your skin, added with a scent of lavender to make your rest all the more peaceful. The treatment then involves leaving these products on overnight so you wake up with cleansed and refreshed skin.
New European Cricket Performance Centre
La Manga Club have started a partnership with Cricket Ireland and Cricket Scotland to create a European Cricket Performance Centre at the resort. The main purpose of this will be to provide a training camp for international teams during the winter, as with La Manga’s 300 days of sun a year it is a good location to get good cricket conditions all year round. It will be open for cricketers of all levels as well as internationals but Ireland and Scotland will have priority booking. The facilities will consist of 6 first-class pitches, 2 artificial wickets, 18 grass nets and 5 artificial nets, and is set to be open in January 2017.
