The perfect fairways at Cambrian Ridge cut their way through great swathes of age old pine forests which provide a dramatic border to the golf course. Rolling undulations make for interesting driving holes and elevation changes can make club selection tricky but once on the putting surfaces you will have a good chance to sink your fair share of putts thanks to the top class conditioning. Large, well positioned bunkers protect the greens and on the odd hole, players have to contend with sizeable water hazards which can go some way top ruining a good score should you find them with stray approach shots. The Sherling nine in particular features plenty of water as it is situated on the banks of the Sherling Lake.
The nine-hole Short Course is a marvelous collection of par-three holes laid out beautifully between the ridge and Sherling lake. With water in play on five of the holes, the Short Course is both scenic and challenging.
Excellent practice facilities and a welcoming restaurant complete the package at Cambrian Ridge which is simply a must for any golfer travelling to Alabama to sample the delights of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
