We have just returned from a 2 night, 3-round golf break at Druid's Glen resort just south of Dublin. Having used YGT in the past, was again impressed with the efficient way any queries etc. were dealt with prior to and after booking. Excellent value - hotel could not match the price. So all was ok at the booking end of the trip. Only major annoyance was the cost of taking clubs to and from Dublin airport - cost me more that my own seat! Still, not anything to do with YGT, and it was good to have own clubs (as I am left handed not sure could have hired clubs easily in any case).
Resort experience was excellent - helped by sunny weather. Hotel is very nicely presented for a relatively new build, with good leisure and dining facilities. Breakfast was top notch with good service by friendly staff. Golf - Druid's Glen course was immaculate and lived up to reputation, with a stunning layout, excellent design and sensible rough that enabled you to find the ball (most of the time) whilst still punishing by presenting a much tougher shot than from the semi or fairway. Greens were fast and true, even when a little soft due to recent rain.
Druid's Heath appears to be rated less favourably than Druid's Glen by many, but I thought this was another first class layout that was equally enjoyable but with a different character altogether. Overall these are two of the best courses I have played, and together represent a brilliant combination that should not disappoint. Only tip is not to be too ambitious - pick the tees that are sensible for your game, otherwise, particularly on the Heath course, you will struggle. Highly recommend both YGT and the Druid's Glen resort.
