Nestled on the northern end of Myrtle Beach, Farmstead Golf Links is without one of the finest tests of golf in the Carolinas. The outstanding layout and warm welcome are two reasons to pay Farmstead a visit but the main attraction for many is the chance to play the only par 6 hole in the area which interestingly starts in South Carolina and ends in North Carolina.
Farmstead Golf Links straddles the border of North and South Carolina and is truly one of the finest golf courses in an area that has been referred to as the golfing capital of the world thanks to the sheer quantity and quality of the golf courses in the region. The most distinguishing feature on the course is the monstrous 767 yard par 6 18th hole which is sure to live long in the memory. The 17 other holes on the course are more than capable deputies to the unique 18th. Beautifully manicured fairways stretch over natural undulations and are bordered by long, punishing rough that separates the course from the sparkling lakes that are common to the region. At 7,242 yards from the back tees this course is a stiff proposition for even the most talented golfers while five sets of tees make it accessible to golfers of all abilities.
The golfing experience at Farmstead is capped off by a grand Georgian style clubhouse that includes a full-service pro shop, grill and lounge. The clubhouse also boasts a lovely veranda where players can sit and enjoy a well deserved drink while looking out over the 18th hole.
