The Lakes is the feature course at Five Lakes, and is a regular host to an annual regional PGA event, in addition to being selected for the prestigious Nick Faldo Challenge. The layout was conceived by European Tour legend Neil Coles, who has created the perfect resort course which is guaranteed to be an enjoyable experience for all golfers.
There are however numerous hazards to test even the best players, particularly the abundant water which guards no less than 10 holes. From the championship tees, the Lakes measures 6,751 yards, and is one of the golfing highlights of the region.
The monster 6th, at 564 yards, is one of the most daunting tests on the Lakes. Make sure of your yardage to ensure you avoid the treacherous stream that bisects the fairway.

The Links is slightly shorter than the Lakes Course, and is the perfect complement. The Links is undoubtedly an easier proposition than its neighbour, but should certainly not be underestimated, as there are still a number of strategically positioned water hazards and penal sand traps.
Should you manage to avoid these obstacles, scoring well should be guaranteed as the slick greens, which the course is famous for, make putting a real pleasure. The Links only serves to underline Five Lakes' reputation as one of the East's best golf resorts.

Bar Lacu is the perfect evening retreat and stays open till late for a beers, wine, cocktails and light meals. There’s also the Sports Bar where you’ll find a relaxed and welcoming environment for a post-golf beer.
It’s a bit tired. The bathrooms need refurbished. The coffee shop in the golfing area is not up to par, no atmosphere and quite dark.
Hi Ben. The trip was a great success 👍. Everyone enjoyed it. The hotels staff were very obliging. Golf courses were both good ( Lakes was the better of the two) my only criticism was the bedrooms were a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. Thanks again for all your help.
Excellent hotel everything as expected and more
Excellent standards in all departments The F&B staff were all efficient and friendly delivering a consistent service.
Our accommodation was fine I think new carpets would be nice and up date on the furnture but the bed was very comfortable
Had an overnight stay with two rounds of golf. Overall very happy with the hotel room was nice, Bed was a little soft for me but that just personal preference. Shame the Golf Bar wasn't open later as we fancied playing Pool after dinner but couldn't use those facilities.
Good sized rooms Food was good and plentiful. Staff were very accommodating. A very nice stay.
Comfortable beds in excellent clean rooms ,service and food excellent.
Showers leaked flooding the bathroom,so we had to the floor our towels which were not changed the next day.The food poor with a very poor choice
The hotel was very good for our group
Room 101 is just perfect for twin accommodation with every facility that could be required.
This year we stayed in the main hotel.Rooms were clean, spacious and had all the necessary options. This time evening Buffet was disappointing as they ran out of Lamb and there was a wait for a suitable replacement. Breakfast was splendid as usual
Nice rooms .lovely food.
Hotel food really good.we stayed in the village rooms are really good.only problem when we finished golf on Monday there was no food or beer to be had for such a large hotel pathetic.
Excellent accommodation, food reasonable but not outstanding
Lakes course excellent, links not so good Good time enjoyed by all Thank you

This course is a bit more interesting but still not in very good condition. At least you could get the tee in the ground.
The first 9 holes are just a field, very boring and in bad condition, the second 9 is a bit more interesting. The tees were so hard we couldn’t get our tee in the ground. Fairways like concrete. Wouldn’t play this again.
Lakes course better than links course. Well kept and about right for our level of golf!! Everyone friendly
Ok course and enjoyable but lakes course better
Everyone enjoyed the experience of playing this course , all elements were of the same well maintained standards
The Links Course will need a bit more work to match the Lakes experience .
The course was great but a lot longer and harder than the links it was another lovley day and we all enjoyed it greens were great lovley place to play golf
We all really enjoyed the course it was a beautiful day and we had some good scores
Links course was nice, open in places but also tight in places, some very nice looking holes. Greens again were fast and true. Got some awful bounces at unexpected places which was a shame but difficult to correct I guess. (for example ball hitting middle of fairway then kicking off and into the rough ball lost!).
Enjoyed the Five Lakes course, greens were fast and true. Don't remember a any stand out signature holes but good start to the weekend.
More difficult than the Links but still very enjoyable.
Challenging course but enjoyable.
Very enjoyable well designed course
Slow 4 ball in front , 2nd cut off fairways bit to high to find a ball (maybe not cut due to recent days of heavy rainfall) Course was dry and very playable
The better of the 2 courses we all really enjoyed it unfortunatly we were suposed to play it on our last day butwhen we arrived at the pro shop we told we had to go out on the links course because the members were out on the lakes, very disapointing
Not abad course we all enjoyed it
Although a little more difficult than the Links Course the condition made it so nice to play. The 'T' times were arranged so that there was little delay although being a two ball we did catch up with the four ball society groups in front of us-but no great difficulty.
A very nice walk round with a couple of quite testing par fours. We were neither rushed or hampered by other golfers.
Another fair course, plenty of risk and reward shots on offers. Like the Links course keep it out of the rough.
Very fair course if you keep it out the rough.
No hold ups.no waiting even though there was a match being played
The first 9 holes boring.the second nine better
I was in the first group to tee off the two groups in front of me were so slow it took us five hours 40 minutes.
Despite its difficulty it is a very good course. We took an option to play it a second time. The first day the speed of play was good, but the second day, because of high winds, more water and punishing rough, the play was quite slow. Overall a great experience.
Fairways and greens excellent but the rough was somewhat punitive.
