0800 043 6644Located South of Dorking this gem is within easy reach of London, the south coast and major motorways (M25, A3, M23). Gatton Manor, set within 200 acres of leafy Surrey, is the ideal retreat for a relaxing golf break.
The golf course itself was constructed in the late 60s, and was conceived by Commander John Harris, a distinguished architect who went on to create fantastic golf courses around the world, particularly in New Zealand.
Though not especially long – Gatton Manor reaches 6,600 yards at its peak - the challenging course is a great test of golf even for low handicappers and boosts the longest hole in the South East of England (645 yards). No two holes are alike and imaginative use has been made of streams, lakes and tree-lined fairways.
Gatton Manor has 18 bedrooms, a mixture of twin or doubles, many of which are situated in the manor house; this dates back to 1728 and was the original Dowager House of the Abinger Estate. All our rooms offer ensuite bathrooms with either showers or baths, and tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
The warm award winning welcome and service that is extended to all visitors embellishes the charm of Gatton Manor, which is the perfect place to escape for an intimate golfing getaway.
As you would expect there are excellent practice facilities – practice range, chipping area and putting green.
The Clubhouse provides a bar, restaurant and function room facilities and terraces overlooking the lake for ‘al fresco’ eating.
In the bar, the inglenook fireplace invites you to settle down and enjoy the local ales, wines and spirit on offer. A bar snack menu and a range of inviting daily specials are available throughout the day, with freshly sourced ingredients created by our Head Chef Jozef Miko.
In the Restaurant, an a la carte menu is offered; this changes on a monthly basis to ensure we maximise use of seasonal ingredients and wherever possible locally sourced produce.

A one night stay as part of a golf tour even though the hotel is definitely deserving of its imminent renovation the team at the venue were very welcoming and friendly the rooms we had were comfortable and the dinner and breakfast were great
Lovely towels. Excellent food. No sign of any refurbishment yet.
Fantastic place, delicious food, only down side was very low water pressure in Room 2 shower.
Food was Brilliant
Staff were fantastic. Room very good size and well equipped but would benefit by having a fridge. Corridors and outside look very tired and in need of maintenance. Food was good but golf break food had very limited menu.
Staff could not have looked after us better. Food was superb and rooms were good if a little hot!!
The rooms are a little tired but the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good.

Enjoyable, could not expect any more for this time of year.
Like the hotel the golf course is a bit rough round the edges and in need of some renovation such as the bridges walkways and other visuals but look beyond these things and you will find the layout of the course is fabulous with some great holes and the fairways were good and the greens were excellent we had a very enjoyable round and would love to return in the future we were really glad we played here.
Very slow. Too many hopeless men out there!
Great condition given the whole course was waterlogged and other courses may well have been closed. Only managed 1 and a bit rounds but that was due to the horrible wet weather.
we all loved it
Greens were very good but a little slow compared with other Surrey/Sussex courses. Rough very penal. Possibly increase width of first cut off fairway.
A gem of a golf course set in the Surrey Hills. Lots of water cane in to play on a fair number of holes but that added to the challenge. Greens in terrific order. Two great days golf
Great course layout but needs some TLC. EG. It was a little scruffy in places , fairways needed cutting and weed treating, probably be better by May -June. The bar area and main building generally was a bit "drab" , and some of the staff could be more welcoming. However, we would play there again.
There's enough water to worry about, enough trees to get in the way and enough open fairway to relax a little. Overall a testing course for the higher handicap but by no means impossible.
