Of the two islands, Trinidad is the largest island which is where you will find the capital of the country, Port of Spain, here you can enjoy a tour exploring the historic Caribbean city. The capital is also famous for its huge Carnival scene, thriving with dancing and music. Furthermore, there is a selection of picturesque courses to enjoy whilst visiting Trinidad & Tobago, including Tobago Plantations and Mount Irvine Bay which you can play in Tobago.
Trinidad and Tobago are filled with typical Caribbean beaches with crystal white sand and clear blue waters, which offers the perfect way to relax and cool off after enjoying one of the golf courses. The Nylon Pool is definitely one to visit, supposedly imbued with powers and healing waters and is located nearby the sands of Pigeon Point.
Established in 1968, the course is set within a gently rolling countryside along Tobago’s northwest coastline, and features an abundance of towering coconut trees and breathtaking views of the sea from every hole.
Only after a year of its opening, the Tobago Plantations Estate golf course had near instant success, after hosting the Tobago Plantations Seniors Classic event on the European Senior Tour back in 2002.
St Andrews Golf Club was originally listed as a 9-hole course back in 1891, where it has been known to being one of the oldest in the western hemisphere. Since then, the course has moved to Moka, where Ron Fream designed the layout.
Located just off from Pigeon Point in Tobago, Nylon Pool boasts utterly clear and calming waters which is accessible by boat. Nylon Pool is like experiencing a natural swimming pool but half a mile out at sea, making it an obligatory stop on the boat tours that leave from Pigeon Point.
Tobago’s Main Ridge is the oldest protected forest in the western hemisphere, offering the perfect terrain for mountain biking and sightseeing. The layout delivers challenging climbs across the breezy coastline with amazing views of the sea.
Trinidad is world-famous for its calypso and soca music, but there is also a thriving underground music scene centred around small bars and pubs. Live music from bands like Jointpop and Orange Sky blend the rhythms of rock and roll with calypso and reggae, creating a unique sound to light up the nightlife.
Trinidad is the larger of the two islands, so expect to drive a little further to get from one side of the island to the other, however with Tobago, you can expect only short driving distances to navigate around the island.
