Art and music abound, with live concerts of all types, beachfront sculpture displays and hundreds of other exhibitions and performances both large and intimate throughout the area. The local Indian culture is prominent, with an abundance of crafts and local wares available for purchase. The golf courses are also incredible, but away from the courses, there are many other activities at hand, from hiking, sport fishing, whale watching, to jungle tours.
Golfers will find great courses - including two designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf at Villa Vallarta - among the seven championship layouts in the area - and the climate in this part of Mexico makes golf a year-round activity. The temperature usually hovers around the mid 30’s for much of year, giving way to a rainier summer season from late June to early October.
The Pacifico is one of two courses at the Four Seasons resort, both designed by Jack Nicklaus. However the signature Hole 3B is the headline act being the world’s only natural island green.
The two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf courses provide an incredible golf experience with dense jungles, deep ravines, swift creeks and views of Banderas Bay.
Conveniently located only 5 minutes Nuevo Vallarta and Bucerias, the championship par 72 golf course has a natural layout with sloping terrains and narrow fairways.
When flying to Puerto Vallarta, you will need to take a connection flight, however to avoid this why not fly directly into Mexico City and take on an awesome road trip? During the summer comes along with a lot of rain, so the best time to go is spring/autumn season. Whatever your choice, take a look at some key flight details, with tips of when the best time of year is to travel.

On top of 2 legendary Jack Nicklaus golf courses at the Four Seasons Punta Mita Resort, Nicklaus also created the only natural offshore island hole on earth, producing one of the most breathtaking and unique golf holes on earth. The hole is 3B at the Punta Mita Resort, and also known as The Tail of the Whale, where depending on low or high tide will vary how you access the dramatic green.
