Casablanca is one of the world's most beguiling cities, with an intoxicating atmosphere dominated by the traditions of the country and the thousands of small crafts and trades in the maze of alleys and workshops throughout the city centre.
During the 16th century, the Portuguese occupied this region because of its high strategic value. They built the fortress at Mazagan which withstood attacks from the Moroccans for two centuries. Renamed El Jadida (The New) in 1832, it regained its Portuguese name of Mazagan under French protectorate, until its independence in 1956 when it became El Jadida once again.
Casablanca is very accessible from the UK, with regular flights to the city from major airports via operators such as Royal Air Maroc, Air France and TAP.

The Royal El Jadida course lies right next to the sandy bay that stretches north from the city towards Azemmour. Bahia Beach Golf Club is a coastal links course that can be tricky with lenghty challenges for the visiting golfer. At the heart of the course is the stunningly spacious clubhouse, one of the finest in Morocco, overlooking the beautiful links layout.
With direct flights available with both British Airways and Air Arabia, you can fly over to Casablanca hassle free. Flight times are generally around 4 hours and the hotels in and around the city are then just a short transfer away.
Casablanca can get very hot during the summer months with temperatures averaging 29°C through July and August, peaking at highs of 40°C. The winter period and other months are much more pleasant averaging around the high teens and low twenties making much better golfing weather.
