Stayed 2 nights. Arrived after 5 on the first night. First nights dinner a bit chaotic! Table of twelve. Asked to go to the bar and order food by room! £25 value off the menu! Three or four of the dishes sold out! It meant food was arriving at all different times. Some folk finished their meals before others had even arrived! Most meals around the £20 mark so effectively you weren’t getting £25 to spend! Send day a completely different experience!! Menu offered giving a choice with mains and desserts before we played our round! Food arrived for everyone at the same time. 20% discount codes given for us to use at the bar! Everyone happy with what they got. This all seems to have happened because we were arriving at the hotel around 5! Nothing had been forwarded or left out in advance for us to order food or receive discount codes. Everything else on our trip first class. Golf course, golf range, gym, pool and sauna areas. All great. I would definitely recommend this to other people for a golf weekend.

The bedrooms were very warm especially as we was located near the pool area, and the rooms had no air conditioning. Also the beds wasn’t comfortable.

Wonderful Hotel with great staff

The stay in the hotel was very good. All the staff we had dealings with were all very helpful and friendly. From only our personal point of view the food could have been a little better re the choice, but we understand that they are dealing with a vast array of different customers, but as I say that was just our point of view.

The room was large, clean and bathroom modern, but the toilet kept running after flushing. My group of 12 golfers found the “village app” easy to use, but disappointing that the in-house Starbucks wouldn’t accept it for purchases. The gym was well equipped and swimming pool ideal, but both meals were delivered over an our late in the “pub and grill”, both nights and it was really noisy. Also the main screen TV kept switching to hotel village adverts in the middle of a football game on night and darts game another night (very annoying). The staff were lovely and very helpful, but on many occasions they had to step in to help guests use the checkout/ check-in terminals. Breakfast was excellent in the Helter Skelter restaurant.

All good . The only down side is the long drawn out process to get the discount code. Would be simpler just to give you a group code instead of each individual having to download the app & then requiring a unique code.

Really enjoyed this course and provided us with a nice contrast to the links course we’d played earlier in the week. Saturday a very slow round of 4 hours 30. Sunday around in 3 hours 45. So really just depends on the day. Course played well with some tight challenging holes. Red marker poles offering a drop out helped avoid higher scores with lost balls!! Course dry and in really nice condition but I can see where it might get heavy in winter.

The course was so wet they have not been able to get the fairways cut so it was quite difficult to find your ball. Surprised that the course was open. We only played about 4 holes and then gave up

The day before our trip, we had a phone call to say that only 14 holes were open but we still decided to come to play our two rounds. On the first day when we played the course was not in good condition and was like a farmers field on the fairways. We lost via plugging in the fairway between the three of us about 20 balls , costing us lose to £90 in balls as we only use pro v1 or TP5 x We spoke to the pro shop the following morning to inform him that we won’t be playing our second round due to the poor condition of the golf course and having lost all our balls on the fairways. The course at home where were members is in much better condition and herons reach is usually fantastic but we feel very let down by our first golf trip of the season. During the round I messaged your golf travel but have had no response even though I’ve booked multiple trips including turkey last November. Very disappointed in the trip.

Good morning We have been in contact with Herons Reach Golf Club on a Regular basis over the last couple of weeks - currently buggies and pull trolleys are not allowed on the Course and up to Thursday Only 14 holes remained open as the ground is extremely wet. We spoke to the Professional on Thursday and was advised that this Is a situation that is constantly changing and he could not update Us as to the status of the course until Monday morning. As advised by you we will have to travel as the course will be open But two of our party have walking difficulties and certainly won’t Be able to carry their bags for two rounds. By Monday everything might be fine but I thought I would update you with the current situation which is less than ideal but beyond everybody’s control. In the end we were unable to play any golf due to the ban on buggies and trollies %0- so disappointing

We couldn’t play the first round as the course was closed due to the course being too wet. On the second day they opened 14 holes and we decided to play, big mistake. The course was so wet it was like playing in a cow field with your feet sinking in to the ground. Also when you were hitting balls off the tee or fairways with any height you where loosing balls as they were just plugging and disappearing, ( 10 balls lost between us ). We understand to a point why they opened the course, but it should have stayed closed, not a good end to our trip.

The course was much heavier than we expected, but then we learnt storm Amy had passed through just a week earlier. The pro shop was well equipped and staff helpful. For golf groups there wasn’t really a quiet place to meet up for our daily awards meeting and prize giving as a speaker couldn’t be heard in the pub and grill and the heater skelter area was closed

Greens were excellent. Bunkers require more sand ( in Blackpool) Overall they a really challenging & well kept course
