Golf Courses at Kingsmill Resort

The River Course

Bordered by the calm azure waters of the James River, this famed championship course has tested the mettle of the game’s most famous names, as for more than three decades, The River Course has hosted the world’s best players on both PGA and LPGA tours.

This Pete Dye course has been tinkered with over the years to bring it up to become one of the best courses in the state, and is a place that will truly test your mettle as a golfer. At 6831 yards and Par 71 from the back tees, it is a good test of golf and about good course management with some tricky lies and elevation changes. The Par 3 17th is regarded as the signature hole with water all along the right hand side and a deep green, so club selection is vital when coming to this hole.

The Plantation Course

A slightly shorter course at 6,432 yards and Par 72, this Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay design is more about accurate iron play and good putting. With landmarks of from the Richard Kingsmill plantation 1736 this a truly historic course and with undulating greens with many slopes, the challenge will be as much on the green as off it!
