Host to the 2016 Summer Olympic games, the Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro was the first to hold a golf tournament for the Summer Olympics in 112 years. The event went onto become a large success, attracting a large field of world class professional tour players, with Justin Rose going onto win the prestigious golf medal.
The Olympic Golf Course, designed by the American architect Gil Hanse, is the only one in Latin America with an international level and covers an area of 1 million square meters. The course has 18 holes with carefully maintained greens, rental carts, driving range, golf lessons, locker rooms and all necessary structure for large events. The field is the site that hosted the return of the golf mode - after 112 years - to the Olympic Games and left its legacy for the city of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the Olympics, the field has hosted other tournaments such as the Brazilian Open and Rio de Janeiro State Open. The golf club also has a nice restaurant on site, to relax and enjoy the delights of Brazilian cuisine, with a backdrop onto the stunning golf course.
